20110214_Jenny C_5955Jenny Carlstedt caps a hugely successful season at Oper Frankfurt in the title role in Häendel’s Teseo. Tilmann Köhler’s new production opens on 30th May and runs during the early part of June – http://www.oper-frankfurt.de/en/page521.cfm?stueck=315. In the 2013/14 season in Frankfurt she will sing Idamante in Idomeneo, Miranda in Ades’ The Tempest, Meg Page in Falstaff and Mesope in Enescu’s Oedipe.  Earlier this season, Jenny had a huge critical and public success singing Erika in Samuel Barber’s Vanessa and, as Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro cemented her place as one of the leading Mozart mezzo-sopranos singing in Germany.

 

Danny DriverPianist Danny Driver travels to New Orleans in Louisiana to play several concerts in the Birdfoot Chamber Music Festival, an exciting, new but increasingly well thought of venture – http://birdfootcmf.org. The repertoire includes Messiaen’s Quartet for the End of Time and Ravel’s Trio for Piano, Violin and Cello. This month also sees Danny’s most recent release on the Hyperion label. black and whiteBass-baritone Daniel Grice returns to the Royal Opera House to sing a Flemish Deputy in Nicholas Hytner’s fabulous production of Verdi’s Don Carlo, conducted by Antonio Pappano – http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/don-carlo-by-nicholas-hytner.   Excitingly, Daniel will go back to the Royal Opera House in 2014 to sing his first major role in the theatre, as Schaunard in John Copley’s beautiful, classic production of  La Boheme – http://www.roh.org.uk/productions/la-boheme-by-john-copley.  But, before then, he returns to Cardiff for Welsh National Opera’s autumn 2013 season where he will sing not only Angelotti in Tosca – http://www.wno.org.uk/tosca – but also Lord Rocheford in Alessandro Talevi’s new production of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena http://www.wno.org.uk/anna
