Nicholas
Watts trained at the Royal College of Music and graduated from the Benjamin
Britten International Opera School. Whilst at the RCM he won the prestigious
Concerto Prize in 2001 performing Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and
Strings.

addition, Nicholas has covered Ferrando Cosi
van Tutte and Pedrillo Escape from
the Seraglio for Opera North, Novice
Billy Budd and the tenor roles in King Arthur for ENO and Giacomo La Donna del Lago for Garsington.
Nicholas
was a soloist on Les Arts Florissants' 2007 Jardin des Voix tour which
included performances in some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls and
opera houses, as well as the Lincoln Center in New York. He has also sung the Evangelist in
Bachs Weihnachtsoratorium for Les
Arts Florissants, the tenor solos for the Hallé Orchestra in both the Messiah
and Bach’s St. Matthew Passion , the latter conducted by Mark Elder, and
Theodora for Lawrence Cummings and the London Handel Orchestra in Oslo.
Future
projects include a return to the Theater an der Wien to sing Scaramuccio Ariadne auf Naxos, Eustazio
Armida for Garsington and Handel’s Messiah for the London Handel Orchestra
in Oslo.
