Gabriella Cassidy - Soprano

British soprano Gabriella Cassidy was raised in Jersey, and has trained at the Wales International Academy of Voice, the Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music.  She was a 2013/14 artist on English National Opera’s Opera Works programme.

Gabriella made her English National Opera debut as Gilda Rigoletto and has since covered the roles of Euridice Orpheus in the Underworld (including a performance), Queen Tye Akhnaten and Hanna Glawari The Merry Widow.

She has also appeared as Konstanze Die Entführung aus dem Serail for Diva Opera’s European tour and will be reviving the role in Tokyo, Japan.  Upcoming engagements, also with Diva Opera, include Elvira L’Italiana in Algeri and Kate Pinkerton Madama Butterfly.

Her other roles include Norina Don Pasquale and Barbarina Le Nozze di Figaro (Diva Opera),  Romilda Serse at the RNCM and in concert at the Iford Arts Festival, and The Girl Handel Furioso (Grimeborn Festival).

Gabriella was the recipient of the Bach Prize at RNCM and the T.E. Drane Award for Vocal Music at Chetham’s School of Music.  In concert, her appearances include Vivaldi Gloria, Purcell Come ye sons of art, Mozart Requiem, Rutter Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Bach Cantatas at the RNCM and Handel Cantatas at The Foundling Museum (Handel Institute).

Future projects include Fiordiligi (cover) for Welsh National Opera’s reduced tour of Cosi fan Tutte, Donna Anna Don Giovanni for Diva Opera and Green Eggs and Ham, a small-scale operatic project for Opera North.
