British soprano Gabriella Cassidy was raised in Jersey, Channel Islands and has trained at the Wales International Academy of Voice, Royal Northern College of Music and Chetham’s School of Music, and was a 2013/14 artist on English National Opera’s Opera Works programme. Gabriella is currently a student of Dennis O’Neill CBE and previously Lynne Dawson.
Gabriella’s most recent operatic projects have included Barbarina Le Nozze di Figaro and Norina (cover) Don Pasquale for Diva Opera. Other roles have included Romilda Serse at the RNCM and in concert as a 2014 Iford Arts Festival Young Artist, (conducted by Christian Curnyn), Tatyana Eugene Onegin (cover, Opra Cmyru) The Girl Handel Furioso (Isle of Noise, Epstein Theatre, Liverpool), Angelica Orlando, Morgana Alcina, Semele Semele (all ENO Opera Works), Carolina The Secret Marriage (cover, British Youth Opera), and Adina L’elisir d’amore (cover, Opéra de Baugé). Gabriella was the recipient of the Bach Prize at RNCM and the T.E. Drane Award for Vocal Music at Chetham’s School of Music.
Concert appearances have included Vivaldi’s Gloria, Purcells’s Come ye sons of art, Mozart’s Requiem, Rutter’s Requiem, Handel’s Messiah, Bach Cantatas at the RNCM and Handel Cantatas at The Foundling Museum (Handel Institute). Gabriella was also involved in a Tour around Norway singing the works of Grieg, both at his home and the Concert Hall in Trolhaugen Bergen. This subsequently led to her being invited to sing at the Norwegian Embassy in London
Gabriella will cover the role of Gilda Rigoletto for English National Opera in early 2017 and returns to work with Diva Opera later in the year as Clorinda La Cenerentola.
