Christina Johnston - Soprano

The young British coloratura soprano, Christina Johnston studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, completing her studies in 2010. Since then, she has been much in demand, singing with orchestras across Europe including, this past year, her second solo tour around the Czech Republic, Slovakia and South America.

Christina made her operatic debut in 2012 as Die Königin der Nacht Die Zauberflöte with the Prague State Opera and, soon afterwards as Adele Die Fledermaus at the same theatre. She has since returned to the theatre to sing many more performances of these roles. Christina has sung Olympia Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the opera house in Kazan, Russia, and Zerlina Don Giovanni at the Estates Theatre in Prague, as well as touring productions of Les Contes d’Hoffmann and Don Giovanni across Germany and Austria.

Blessed with a light, high and flexible voice, Christina has also sung for several film projects in the Czech Republic, and sings on the forthcoming film about Mozart, Interlude in Prague. She is regular soloist at the Prague Film Fesitval, held at the Rudolfinum concert hall.
