Mark Kendall has been the Director of Mark Kendall Artists Management since 2008.  Following a first degree at Cambridge University, he worked both for the BMA and NHS, before going on to study singing as a tenor at the Royal Northern College of Music in the UK.  After a brief career on stage, he worked for BNP Paris before becoming an artist manager in 2005.  As with the rest of the MKAM team, Mark’s experience both of life as a singer and as an artist manager gives him a unique insight into the development of an operatic career.  On the back of this, he has built a strong portfolio of singers and works closely and personally with each, with the aim of enabling every MKAM artist to fulfil his or her potential.

His many roles have included Essex in Britten’s Gloriana at the Liceu in Barcelona, Alessandro in Mozart’s Il Re Pastore in Antwerp and Ghent, and The Chief of Police in Shostakovich’s The Nose at the São Carlos in Lisbon; in addition, he possesses an extensive experience of baroque and contemporary music and of the Lied/mélodie repertoire.  Since 2011, Guy has been working for MKAM, where, alongside his broad knowledge of vocal and operatic culture, his insight into casting at French, Swiss and Belgian theatres proves invaluable.

Damian Thantrey studied law at Cambridge University and qualified as a solicitor, before training as a baritone at the Royal College of Music.  His solo operatic career took him to all the major companies in the UK but demand for his intelligent and passionate performances also saw him sing in major French theatres, across Europe and in the Far East, in an eclectic mix of repertoire from Monteverdi and Mozart to Turnage (at Covent Garden) and Sondheim (at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris).  Since 2018, Damian has been sharing his time as artistic consultant at MKAM with the Lichfield Festival, where he is the Festival Director.  As well as working with our singers on a day-to-day basis, Damian also works with MKAM artists individually on presentation and audition technique.
