Damian Thantrey studied law at Cambridge University and qualified as a solicitor, before training as a baritone at the Royal College of Music. Demand for his intelligent and passionate performances saw him sing in major UK and French theatres, across Europe and in the Far East, in an eclectic mix of repertoire from Monteverdi and Mozart to Turnage (at Covent Garden) and Sondheim (at the Théâtre du Châtelet, Paris). Since 2018, Damian has been sharing his time as artistic consultant at MKAM with the Lichfield Festival, where he is the Festival Director. As well as working with our singers on a day-to-day basis, Damian also works with MKAM artists individually on presentation and audition technique.

Avocat, après ses études de droit à Cambridge, Damian Thantrey étudie le chant, comme baryton, au Royal College of Music à Londres. Très demandé pour ses interprétations intelligentes et passionnées, il chante dans la plupart des théâtres britanniques et français, ainsi que dans toute l'Europe et en Extrême-Orient, dans un répertoire éclectique, allant de Monteverdi à Turnage (à Covent Garden) et Sondheim (au Châtelet à Paris), en passant par Mozart. Depuis 2018, il partage son temps entre son travail de consultant pour MKAM et le Lichfield Festival, dont il est le directeur. En sus de son travail quotidien pour nos artistes, il offre à ces artistes un coaching sur la présentation et la technique d'audition.

Guy

Guy has had a distinguished operatic career and is increasingly recognised for his work as a voice teacher. His many roles have included Essex in Britten’s Gloriana at the Liceu in Barcelona, Alessandro in Mozart’s Il Re Pastore in Antwerp and Ghent, and The Chief of Police in Shostakovich’s The Nose at the São Carlos in Lisbon; in addition, he possesses an extensive experience of baroque and contemporary music and of the Lied/mélodie repertoire. Since 2011, Guy has been working for MKAM, where, alongside his broad knowledge of vocal and operatic culture, his insight into casting at French, Swiss and Belgian theatres proves invaluable.

Après une remarquable carrière opératique, Guy Flechter a acquis une réputation considérable pour son travail pédagogique. Parmi ses incarnations à la scène, Essex dans Gloriana de Britten au Liceu à Barcelone, Alessandro dans Il Re Pastore de Mozart à Anvers et Gand, et le Chef de la Police dans Le Nez, de Chostakovitch, au São Carlos à Lisbonne ; il possède de plus une expérience considérable en musique baroque et contemporaine, ainsi que dans le répertoire du Lied et de la mélodie. Advisers, providing a long-term vision

We see ourselves as advisers, providing a long-term vision for each individual artist’s career. We not only act as day-to-day managers, but also offer working sessions on current and future repertoire, language, and audition technique.

We have great confidence and belief in young artists, even those in the foothills of a career, and offer support as they flourish and progress to each next level; with established artists, we seek to augment their current work portfolio with new projects deserving of their experience, all the while keeping an eye on forthcoming opportunities as repertoire, voices and suitable roles change.

Years of experience

All of the Mark Kendall Artists Management team trained as singers, going on to take very different paths before coming together within the Agency. Between us, we have many years of experience not just in artist management, but also general business and tax issues, technical and language teaching, audition and presentation coaching, programming and producing.

We share the invaluable insight of many years’ experience with major houses across the world, bringing with it a broad knowledge of repertoire from specialist baroque works through to the most challenging contemporary music. Though the Agency was created in the UK, we work with our artists and arts organisations in French, Italian and German, not just English, which is crucial in our increasingly global industry.
